SouthWest Bicycles Cycling Club
No-drop rides in a safe, casual, supportive environment

About

SWBCC is hosting rides with safety in mind. Because we want to be responsible. Please follow our guidelines:
  • REFRAIN from riding with a group if you are not feeling well, or have a known exposure to COVID-19.
  • Cough or sneeze into your elbow and away from others.
  • NO SNOT ROCKETS, OR SPITTING.
  • Bring some cash to purchase water and/or ice at rest stops if refilling your water bottle is not an option.
  • Ride with us ONLY if you are comfortable doing so and please understand that BICYCLING ACTIVITIES INVOLVE RISKS AND DANGERS OF POTENTIAL CONTACT WITH INFECTIOUS DISEASES, SERIOUS BODILY INJURY, INCLUDING PERMANENT DISABILITY, PARALYSIS, AND DEATH.
The Southwest Bicycles Cycling Club is a great way to meet other riders with similar interests. Our no-drop rides are designed to promote a love for casual, recreational cycling with routes designed from novice to experienced. We offer a variety of rides to accommodate most all cycling abilities. Please visit the event tab to view upcoming rides.

Our goal is to promote the love of casual cycling in a supportive, group environment while emphasizing rider safety and abidance to pertinent traffic laws on our no-drop rides.

Because we offer a variety of rides, we encourage you to select the ride(s) that best match your cycling skills, speed and distances.

Participants may use road bikes, hybrid, commuter, or mountain bikes, and Class 1 and Class 3 e-bikes (pedal assist)
Class 2 E-BIKES ARE PROHIBITED ON SWBCC CLUB RIDES.
Tri bike use is strongly discouraged in group rides.
Fixie bike use is strongly discouraged in group rides.

Class 1: eBikes that are pedal-assist only, with no throttle, and have a maximum assisted speed of 20 mph.
Class 2: eBikes that also have a maximum speed of 20 mph, but are throttle-assisted.
Class 3: eBikes that are pedal-assist only, with no throttle, and a maximum assisted speed of 28 mph

All SWBCC rides are led by SWBCC certified ride leaders. Our ride leaders plan routes that utilize public roads and paths. Participants on our rides are expected and encouraged, to adhere to all pertinent traffic rules on the ride.

Because we utilize public roads and paths, participants may encounter previously unknown hazards or debris. As such, every participant accepts full responsibility for their own bicycle handling and safe passage when encountering unanticipated hazards or debris.

Check out our Ride Key to find out how we categorize our A, B, C, D and E level rides.

Our club insurance covers FIRST-TIME guests and Club Members only. So, if you enjoy your guest ride and the club, we encourage you to join the club. Membership details are available on our website https://swbcc.clubexpress.com
