## [Ronda](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ronda) is a famous scenic city settled on the top of hill about 750 m (2,460 ft) above mean sea level.

The route takes you out of city, over nice passes, through pine woods, to white villages and back. It is not an easy ride with all the climbing, but definitely worth the effort to experience the this epic route.

Start in the centre of Ronda and head south, riding over the beautiful gorge; then begin climbing to the pass called "Puerto Encinas Borrachas". @slice[The 10 km ascent](d,175.04,9127.38) has a nice surface and steady gradient to 1000m where you find a semi-desertic climate. Enjoying views over the valley of the river Guadiaro.

Coming to the smallest village of Province Atajate, turn right down to the valley in the direction of @point[Jimena de Líbar](d,22849.67) -- **enjoy the downhill**.

In the valley, turn left towards @point[Cortèz de la Frontera](d,32109.1) and will @slice[climb an undulating profile](d,24797.56,45635.64) with @slice[final downhill to Ubrique](d,45870.3,56631.2).

From Ubrique, ride in the direction of El Bosque.  The famous @slice[15 km long](d,70001.22,84438.07) climb to  @photo["El Boyar"](2324454) pass begins after El Bosque. At the top, you can relax as there are beautiful views and a @point[picnic area](d,84502.55) next to the road.

Following downhill to the white village @photo["Grazalema"](2324453) is easy, and there are many bars to refresh yourself. Enjoy the atmosphere of Grazalema as the @slice[last section](d,88498.71,120708.75) to Ronda is mostly down except @slice[last climb](d,113533.21,119869.79) into the city of Ronda.

# SURFACE
The whole routes has a nice surface except section @slice[Cortèz de la Frontera - Ubrique](d,32573.11,54374.92), but it worth do it because of the views around.
