## Tobermory to Windsor Southbound
*560 kilometers or 347 miles.  Plan you own ride schedule. Mostly flat to slightly rolling with a few hills, moderate. Linear route.*

*Includes Windsor, Wallaceburg, Sarnia, Goderich, Lucknow, Kincardine, Port Elgin, Wiarton and Tobermory. Route ends just across the international bridge or tunnel from Detroit  Michigan, accessible by bridge from Port Huron to Sarnia and by ferry from Algonac to  Wallaceburg and from Marine City to Sombra.*

Memorable expereinces include pipers in Kincardine, Saturdays on Queen Street and evenings at the lighthouse, and annual Pow Wows at Saugeen First Nation near Southampton, Aamjiwnaang First Nation south of Sarnia and Walpole Island First Nation near Wallaceburg.

# The Route
This route is mainly on the @photo[Waterfront Trail](3359832) from Windsor to Sarnia and selected paved local roads, often close to the shoreline.  Unlike other areas in Southern Ontario there are no large urban areas with city traffic and the route avoids the busy tourist routes.  Enjoy cycle paths, bicycle friendly roads with paved shoulders or roads where motor vehicle traffic is light so drivers can easily leave space around you. Ontario law requires all drivers of motor vehicles to maintain a minimum distance of one meter, where practical, when passing cyclists on highways.

This is a scenic bike ride with waterfront views, quiet roads and spectacular sunsets. Visit the charming village of Tobermory which comes alive several times per day when the ferry departs for and arrives from Manitoulin Island. Enjoy several @photo[wonderful resort towns](3359844) with miles of sand beaches on Lake Huron and the historic lighthouses at @photo[Southampton](3359843), @photo[Kincardine](3359837), Point Albert, Goderich and @photo[Lighthouse Cove](3364055).  Bayfield and Goderich are unique historic towns.  The  St.  Clair Parkway from Sarnia south to Wallaceburg allows to to see the @photo[freighters on the St. Clair River](3359841).  Bicycle through the beautiful tree lined streets of upscale residential neighbourhoods as you cycle through Sarnia and Windsor along the shore of Lake Huron, the St. Clair River and Detroit River.  The route ends in the beautiful Coventry Garden on the shore of the Detroit River.
