## From April to September, hot and extremely dry days are common in Brasília. So, why not to start the weekend with a short track and a dip in a calm river?

@poi[Mercado do Nonato (Nonato's Market)](58164519) is the starting and ending point for many MTB routes located on the East Highland region. They don't have fresh fruits, but you'll find water, isotonic, snacks and, if you happen to arrive by lunch, roast chicken. There are no parking spots around, but you can leave your car by the road side. **Don't forget to lock it and keep any valuable item out of sight.**

## The Route
This is a simple route and uses mostly ground roads, but pay attention and look for some gravel and potholes. @slice[The first half](d,0,10096.01) is mainly a descent, and before arriving at the river, you may want to make a short stop at @poi[6.4km](58164520) to check the view.

At the end of the descent you'll turn left and enter a sort of @poi[peninsula](58164518), where the São Bartolomeu River does a sharp turn. It creates a @photo[calm area](4355602) where you can enter. The river is not deep for adults. Take your time there and enjoy!

Going back, it's time to @slice[climb](d,11533.35,15461.06). After about 7km you'll be back at Nonato's Market, probably with a craving for some roasted chicken.
