A well-developed shuttle system takes the sting out of the climbing and lets you focus on the fun. With lots of options as you head down, you can extend the ride for as long as your legs and daylight allow. Don’t stay out too late, though, because there is an IPA with your name on it back in town.

## Route Details
Grab a shuttle to Dutchman Flat trailhead, which is an easy 20 minutes west of town and along the flanks of Mt. Bachelor. A short climb at the beginning of the ride quickly puts you at the @point[high point of 6,500’](d,804.68) and then it’s game on as the singletrack drops fast and smooth with bermed turns everywhere you look. You’ll have another @slice[quick climb](d,5538.63,6699.6) to the end of the Swampy/Dutchman Trail where it intersects with the Ridge Loop Trail. There are a number of intersections in the following miles so keep your head up and your phone handy to navigate through them.

At around @point[Mile 7.5](d,11806.22) you’ll hop onto the South Fork Trail and the speed picks up, with wide-open sections that will have you whooping with joy. You’ll have a rolling, easy climb through towering Ponderosa pines as you head up Skyliners Trail. It’s a good break as you prepare to hit the fabled Lower Whoops Trail with its two miles of tables and huge berms. It’s a descending-only trail so pin it to win it. You’ll be grinning so hard there is a good chance you’ll want to loop back up on Forest Road FS-310 for another lap.

Pace yourself, though, as you still have almost seven miles of singletrack left. The ride ends with the descent down Phil’s Trail and you’ll want to sprint between the microberms. After 25 miles of the finest singletrack the area has to offer you’ll be ready for a break. It’s an easy pedal back into town from Phil’s trailhead so that cold pint you’ve been dreaming of for the last several hours is close at hand.

## Riding Season
The upper segments of the ride can be covered in snow until early summer although it is possible to access the route from lower entry points earlier in the season. Fall can be absolutely prime as the tack returns, particularly to the Lower Whoops Trail.
