Route Details

This route is a hidden gem buried in the Magnolia neighborhood and Discovery Park.  It features some of the best roads and steepest climbs available in Seattle.  This route is great for a training ride if you are staying near downtown Seattle.

The route starts on Thorndyke and immediately leads in to a 300ft climb up to the top of Magnolia.  Then you'll U-turn to fly back down to the coast for Perkins Lane, a beautiful remote neighborhood with some of the steepest climbing available in Seattle.  Then you'll head over to discovery park for a climb up Cemetary Hill.  Then route will then take you through the Fort Lawton Historic District and down to The Lighthouse for a beautiful view of the Sound and Bainbridge Island.  The route will turn you back to the coast and reverse your way back for another steep climb up from Perkins Ln.  Finally, you'll head back towards the start for a brief, steep climb up West Manor Pl and then a fast and easy glide back down Thorndyke.
