This loop takes to you up to Mt. Ishizuchi, the highest mountain on Shikoku. The route takes you on the UFO Line, an amazingly scenic road traversing the shoulder of the mountain, offering views over Kochi to the Pacific Ocean. You return along the great Yoshino River. (less)

This varied route starts in Niihama with a good hill climb up the side of Mt. Higashi-Akaishi on the Besshi Line road, followed by a long descent beside the beautiful Dōzan River into Shikokuchūō.
