One of the most popular bike routes in the Paso Robles area. This is a shorter version of the Great Western Bike Rally's ride and I think it is just a little bit better.

Route Details

The ride starts in @poi[downtown Paso Robles at the @photo[city park](831678)](1113747).  There is plenty of food, water, and restrooms in the area to get you off to a good start.  The ride heads South out of town on @slice[Vine Street](d,361.81,4549.15) which has a bike lane all the way to Highway 46.  @slice[Highway 46](d,4549.15,11763.01) goes West past vineyards and wineries with an 8 foot shoulder to ride on.  Then the ride @point[turns onto Vineyard Drive](d,11828.94) which is a scenic backcountry road with smooth pavement.  The road takes you past ranches, farms, orchards, vineyards, and wineries.  @point[Vineyard Drive tees into Adelaida Road](d,26305.83) where you start riding back to Paso Robles as you climb up to 2,000 feet.  The @slice[downhill](d,32435.98,40875.68) from the top is one of my most favorite sections of roads in the whole world, enjoy it.  @poi[Mount Olive Organic Farm](1113927) is on the way and is the entrance to the old Paderewski Ranch.  Ignacy Jan Paderewski (1860–1941), a virtuoso pianist, composer, and the first Prime Minister of independent Poland after World War I lived in Paso Robles.  Adelaida Road tees into Nacimiento Lake Drive where the @poi[Jardine Ranch](1113746) is located and you are 3 miles from downtown Paso Robles.

* @poi[Jardine Ranch](1113746) cyclist are welcome and we have snacks and drinks in our store.
