This ride will take you northeast of Paso Robles into the old farming lands of Hog Canyon. Keep a sharp eye on the look out for wildlife. You may even see wild hogs and deer. The trip into San Miguel will take you to the park, mission and Rios Caledonia Adobe.

The ride starts downtown at the @poi[Paso Robles City Park](1119870) where there are restrooms, water, and food to get you off to a good start.  You will start out of town on the 13th street bridge and the cue sheet will route you to the bike path just after you cross the bridge.  The bike path goes under the bridge before it joins North River Road.  North River Road follows the Salinas River that flows north.  It is the World's Largest underground river, we call it the upside down river.  The route will leave the Salinas at the Wellsona crossing and head for @slice[Hog Canyon](d,19935.33,34612.39).  You will be riding through vineyards, farms, ranches, along the way.  The first part of Hog Canyon shows the remains of the old Almond orchards on the hillsides from times past.  Hog Canyon has the old buildings from the early farming days with old farm equipment here and there.  Turning on to @slice[Ranchita Canyon](d,34690.19,46707.2) will start your ride back to the Salinas River after a short climb on Ranchita.  The ride across Cross Canyons Road will give you excellent viewpoints of the Salinas Valley.  You will then make a loop around San Miguel before you head back to Paso Robles.  In San Miguel you will go by the @poi[park](147560) for water and the restrooms.  Then on to see the historic @poi[Rios Caledonia Adobe](1119872) and @poi[Mission San Miguel](1119873).  There are a few places along Mission street to get @poi[food and drinks](1119874) before you continue your ride.  The ride ends by taking North River Road back to where you turned off of it and then retracing your route back to the Paso Robles City Park.

* @poi[Rios Caledonia Adobe](1119872) is a California Historical Landmark and is on the National Register of Historic Places.

## CAUTIONS
* @point[Estrella River Crossing on Airport Road](d,15158.59) when we get rain this can be flooded and should not be crossed.
* @point[Estrella River Crossing on North River Road](d,62150.94) when we get rain this can be flooded and should not be crossed.  The flooding also leaves a lot of sand behind and it might be best to walk your bike across.
