If you like hills this is the route for you.  We try to find every kind of hill possible.  Some long 6% grades to a couple of 18% pulls.

Best place to start is at the @point[Monarch Public Bar ](d,14.33)in the town of Fountain City.   John the proprietor has some great food and more importantly a fine selction of brews that will quench your thirst after this monster ride.

Roll out on Main street and head south on hwy. 35 till you hit @slice[CR YY](d,3098.97,5442.66) might as well tackle your first of 11 big climbs.

As you work your way to the @point[town of Dodge](d,23928.3) you will quickly see the beutiful dairy farms that dominate this part of  the  world.  Keep in mind on some of the descents  can be a bit sandy especially after a rain.   Be extra careful on these downhills.   Unexpected deer and occasional gravel can cause havoc.

As you head north you will hit the toughest climb, @slice[Catfish Hill](d,29610.63,30572.48) some Garmins claim a 20% grade, at any measure it will test you.  Another great climb at the 25th mile is @slice[Hippbreaker Hill](d,40161.51,42248.75).

The next downhill is Trout Run.  This is a great descent and you can pretty much let it rip on this one, the turns are visable and the road is in great shape. Hansons Hold Up is the next rest stop. Their hours are 11-9 Thursday through Sunday  during the summer.

After the break enjoy a fast descent on hwy 95 till you reach @point[Boland Valley Road](d,7672.9.92).   From this point you have 2 good size climbs untill you reach your next break which is at @point[Waumandee Country Store](d,107728.48).

Its time to start working your way back to Fountain City.    At @point[mile 75](d,121152.95) be aware of two dogs on the farm on the left side of the road at the bottom of the descent they chase anything that moves  they are not malicous but they make sport of chasing cyclists.  At mile marker 81.1 on the descent on @slice[Schaffner Valley Road](d,130906.78,133355.18)  be very cautious, there is sand at every corner, the road is a little rough and the corners are tight.

As you come to the end of the route and if your legs are toast you can avoid the last big climb by taking hwy 35 south to fountain City where @point[Waumandee Creek Road](d,135927.85) comes next to hwy 35 it is a convinient bail out.
