Route Details

This route is designed to start and finish at the @point[Vino in the Valley](d,0) windery.  After a wonderful ride in Western Wisconsin sit down to some great local wine, great food and one of the most idyllic locations in the upper Midwest.  The Winery is nestled in the Rush River Valley between Elsworth and Plum City.  Vino has fantastic pizza and delicious wine.  The winery offers 3 wines from the valley additionally they have a great choice of local beers on tap for those of us that enjoy beer.

The route is a mix of some hills in the beginning and a couple of climbs at the end.  In between there is a long stretch along the Eau Galle Valley.  You will pass through some laid back sleepy Wisconsin towns like Elmwood, Arkansaw and Plum City.  Who knew there was an Arknsaw Wi.  There is a great spot in Arkansaw to pickup a Spotted Cow at "For Petes Sakes" bar.

# Route

* Park and start route at the Vino in the Valley Winery.  If you have a meal or beverage at the winery they dont mind you parking in the lot.  Let management know the day before
* Two big climbs right off the bat with a tricky @slice[descent](d,2532.34,3568.14) in between be aware of a sharp left at the bottom of the hill.
*  First opportunity for a rest stop is at the @poi[Cenex station](1155231) in Elmwood.
* Check out @point[the falls ](d,42707.81)in the town of Eau Galle
* Rest stop #2 @poi["Petes Sake" bar](1287947).
* At mile @slice[36](d,58781.43,59906.48) there is a nice climb on CR ss
* Rest stop #3 at @poi[Sandy's Grocery and Gas](1155230) in Plum City

# Notes

* Be wary when you ride on hwy 72 there seems to be some loose gravel on the shoulder in some spots.
* If you do not buy anything at the For Petes Sake Bar make sure you leave them a tip for the use of the facilites.  They are nice people there and we want to leave a good imporession.
