# Route Summary
Whether you are looking for an extended start or finish to a neighboring ride or are a beginner, you will get a kick out this short and diverse loop!  For those into night riding, this is a great section of trail to include in your adventures!

Link this Route with the [Tiger Long Loop](http://ridewithgps.com/ambassador_routes/623-tiger-long-loop) and Coyote Loop for a longer riding adventure!

This Route covers part of the *"Frater Lake Sno-Park Groomed Trail System"*, which is popular with cross-country skiers in the winter.

There are no significant climbs on this Route and all uphills are on good terrain with moderate grades.

# On The Route Directions
Starting on the South side of Highway 20 just opposite the @poi[Parking Lot](1598874), head South on the @slice[Little Pend Oreille ORV Trail #142](d,3.07,438.54).  Notable guidance past this point:
* Right at @poi[Owl Junction](1598877)
* Right at @poi[Bear Junction](64ea416672617379c9040000)
* Right at @poi[Osprey Juction](1598878)
* Left at @poi[Grouse Junction](1598880)

# Safety Issues
**There is no potable water available on the Route or near this area.  Surface water, if present is usually at very low flows and should never be relied upon.  Nearest reliable water is at the [Beaver Lodge Trading Post](http://www.beaverlodgeresort.org) followed by the town of Ione.  The [Tiger Store](http://scenicwa.com/listing/tiger-historical-center-and-museum.html) is open from May to September.**

It's okay to make some noise to let Mother Nature's Beasts know you are in the area!

# How Best To Ride This Route
As with all of our Routes, they are best ridden as laid-out.  There are a number of options with this Route to shorten and also lengthen it.  This said, the Route as laid out, will give you maximum singletrack!

The points of interest here are ordered in how you would encounter them riding this Route.
## Lake Leo
Depending on the information source, Lake Leo is roughly 32 acres in size and is the third lake in the Little Pend Oreille River Chain of Lakes.  The best view of Lake Leo on this Route is from the @poi[East side](1598876) in roughly the middle of this Route, which will require a slight departure from this Route to enjoy it!

If you are a keen fisher, Lake Leo can be fished. As with most of the lakes in the area, Trout are common here, in particular [Black Crapple or Calico/Strawberry Bass]( http://wdfw.wa.gov/fishing/washington/Species/1741/), [Brook Trout](http://wdfw.wa.gov/fishing/washington/Species/1261/), [Largemouth Bass](http://wdfw.wa.gov/fishing/washington/Species/1738/), [Rainbow Trout]( http://wdfw.wa.gov/fishing/washington/Species/1246/) and    [Yellow Perch](http://wdfw.wa.gov/fishing/washington/Species/1849/).
