This ride is wonderfully diverse. You’ll start at Great Shiplock Park, the Richmond endpoint on the Virginia Capital Trail and will ride through the Richmond National Battlefield Park via roads. This ride is filled with Civil War history. You will cycle through several major battlefields and cemeteries within the Richmond National Battlefield Park. There are many opportunities to explore the well-preserved Civil War earthworks, cannons, and interpretive signs. Park Rangers are available during operating hours to answer your questions at the Fort Harrison Visitor Center, Glendale National Cemetery and Fort Harrison National Cemetery. (less)

Expect rolling terrain and some gentle climbs along the Virginia Capital Trail and surrounding countryside on this figure-8 ride. You'll visit unique sites, including Malvern Hill battlefield, Harrison Lake Fish Hatchery, Upper Shirley Vineyards and Shirley Plantation.
