Norman P, I don't understand your comment - I'm a recent member of RidewithGPS, I just posted a few rides which I recorded on my GPS unit - I can't see how it becomes a duplicate - it is unique and it is my effort. Please explain.
I think Norman P is just pointing out that there are a couple of segments that cover the same basic climb - but they are not identical, so not sure what the perceived problem is here?
tufty - maybe you misunderstood my comment. This is not to do with your ride at all. When you create a segment is is a public object on ridewithgps independent of you (except that you can edit the name & delete it). If somebody has already created an almost identical segment then it would be a duplicate. I can't tell who created the other one (called 'Kingston Hill climb, Kingston Blount') - but they do both cover the same climb. You should see this one also in your list of segments. It really doesn't matter - though before I create a segment I do just check if there isn't already one in existence so near-duplicates don't show up in people's segment lists. No offence was meant... just a technical point!!
I have no idea - read the help. These comments get sent to ALL the people who have ridden the segment. Apologies to all the others receiving this it will be my last comment :-)
Apologies from me for the flood of emails - I didn't realise that it emailed all those listed. I'll contact ridewithgps admin to find out how to contact the owner.

Sorry Norman P. This is not a duplicate. This segment is from the Chiltern Hundred Medio fondo that I rode in on Sunday

Norman P. Then contact the segment owner directly instead of commenting here so that we all get "spammed"

How can you tell who the segment owner is?
