A route to tour the majority of the Tour of California stage up Mt. Baldy. Rode with Chuck, Andy, Ted, and some great people from a riding club, VeloViet (although, the club did not return via the East Fork). Temperatures were cool, which is always good for this ride.
A special note: the descent down GMR to the East Fork is one of the best, notwithstanding that, as I came out of a tight turn, I was fortunate to avoid crashing into some idiots that were blocking the entire road trying to get their crashed car onto a trailer.
Some details on the climb from the Village (from RideWithGPS metrics):
From Mt. Baldy Lodge:
2077' / - 11'
9.3% avg grade

From Ice House Cnyn Rd:

I question the average % grade figures; they may be understated and I have not yet calculated them myself, but never fear, this is a challenging, and very satisfying ride with fantastic scenery. (A few pics are included.)
