Though comprised of two sections of intensive climbing separated by a @slice[descent into the Cimarron River basin](d,30747.18,47724.45), this route does not amass the most elevation gain possible in a 50-mile stretch of Stillwater gravel, but rather, this course aims to feature roads unique to the terrain of Payne County, USA – roads beloved by local riders and not to be missed by visitors to the area.

As such a noticeable motif of the route is @photo[Oklahoma red dirt](2928695), which has become notorious for claiming legs and derailleurs at [The Land Run 100](https://landrun100.com/). *Pictures of the route featured here were taken the day after a torrential rain to show that the land is often dry enough to accommodate water, but take precautions when conditions are uncommonly wet.*

## Points of Interest:
* **Course start point:** @poi[District Bicycles](4700895) (hrs. M-Sa, 10-6) – most parking in downtown Stillwater has a 90 min time limit during business hours, but @point[long term parking available](d,141.45) at the intersection of Husband and 8th .
* **Course end point:** @poi[Finnegan’s Pub](4707682) – go in for a cold one after your ride, bikes welcome!
* **Emergency water:**  @poi[Coyle Assembly of God Church](4700893) (spigot and hose) at mile 28.6 (Main and Cimarron), otherwise no source of resupply available until the end.
* @slice[Miles 52-53](d,83541.35,84451.12) take you through a local recreation trail at @poi[Couch Park](4700894) – **watch out for flying discs and pedestrians!**
