2-3 hour loop at your own pace that can start or end at any of the following 3 GO train stations - @poi[Guildwood](6807112) - @poi[Rouge Hill](6807089) - @poi[Pickering](6807073). All three stations have free parking, washrooms, bike racks and staffed by GO employees if you have any questions.

Fitness requirements are low because it is not for high speeds and a more of a cruising loop.  The best time of year to do the route is Spring-Summer-Fall.  In the summer monnths, the mosquitos come out as the evening cools. You will be on the @photo[waterfront](3639987) quite a bit.

This is a great route to ride solo because of the peace and quiet for 90% of the route.  Bring a friend and talk the whole way at a moderate pace.  So many great spots to stop and eat, drink and catch up.  This loop is for those who want a quiet zone of nature with lots of shade on those sunny days

## Highlights of the ride
* The best part of the Waterfront Trail is on the route
* Beautiful lakeshore cool breezes on hot days and lots of shade in Highland Creek and Morningside Park
* @slice[There is one steep climb](d,26202.09,26547.61) at the entry/exit by the Highland Creek Treatment Plant which has been identified.  It is the only part of this loop I would recommend dismounting and walking with the bike down. 
* Point out any dangerous intersections or busy sections of road
* There are no major roads on this route.  ~10% of the route is on minor roads shared with cars.  ~90% on safe, shared paths with pedestrians.

# Notes
* Seasonal closures, best time of year to do the ride is  Spring, Summer, Fall
*  Being a loop, you can park at any of the 13 parking lots or any of the 3 GO Train stations and go either East or West
* Recommended equipment & attire: a mountain or cruiser bike that is upright and with larger tires.  You do not require knobby tires but just wider than a road tire.  The mix of stone, gravel, first, dust and pavement is great.  If one uses a road bike, please be upright and lower speeds because there are many people on this shared path and many of them are seniors.  There are many blind spots at speeds > 20 kph which combined with non-pavement can result in a quick slip to the ground.
* Required fitness level to enjoy route is low
* Bring water and snacks because this is overwhelmingly a nature trail route.  There are a few convinience stores.
