Day #6. Griffin Lake Campground to Forsyth Park in Savannah. Final push into Savannah. Easy day in the saddle with a few sights along the way. (less)

Day #4. Sandersville to Magnolia Springs State Park in Millen. There is no world but this world. Rural Georgia from Start to Finish on this, the 4th day. The route flattens as it rolls out onto the Vidalia Uplands. Row crops, pine trees and cattle farms. (less)

Day #2. Conyers to Jereshai Campground on Lake Sinclair in Milledgeville. This longish day begins in Atlanta's suburbs and ends in rural Georgia. Enjoy the old homes and Civil War markers along the route. (less)

The Left Wing route from Atlanta to Savannah (LW Atl-Sav) follows, as close as practical, the route of Sherman's Left Wing during the 1864 March to the Sea. The rider travels: Atlanta, Decatur, Stone Mountain, Conyers, Covington, Mansfield, Newborn, Eatonton, Milledgeville, Sandersville, Louisville, Millen, Sylvania, Springfield, Rincon, Port Wentworth and finally, Savannah. Day #5. Cypress Inn/Coleman Lake near Midville to Griffin Lake Campground. This the day in the heart of rural South Georgia. No town at the start, no town at the end, no town in between. If there was ever a day to ponder why your spouse left you or figure out why your kids turned out like they did... this is the day. There's an abundance of quiet road with few distractions. (less)

Day #3. Juliette to the Blue Goose Hostel in Irwinton. Start early. This is the big day in more ways than one. (less)

The Right Wing route from Atlanta to Savannah (RW Atl-Sav) follows, as close as practical, the route of Sherman's Right Wing during the 1864 March to the Sea. The rider passes through the cities of Atlanta, Forest Park, Jonesboro, Locust Grove, Hampton, High Falls, Indian Springs, Juliette, Macon, Gordon, McIntyre, Irwinton, Toomsboro, Bartow, Wadley, Oliver, Guyton, Pooler and finally, Savannah. Day #5. Magnolia Springs to Griffin Lake Campground. From Magnolia Springs travel the gently rolling hills to Sylvania along Buttermilk Road. It's a long downhill to the dead flat of US Hwy 17 through the Town-no-town of Oliver and onto Griffin Lake Campground (less)

Day #3. JereShai Campground to Sandersville. The day starts with a visit to the old state capital, Milledgeville. After Milledgeville it is a ride through rural Georgia with plenty of cows and pine trees. (less)

Day #1. Carter Center in Atlanta to Conyers, GA. This is a short day in the saddle. Take your time to see the sights at Stone Mountain. (less)

Day #6. Griffin Lake Campground to Forsyth Park in Savannah. Don't underestimate this last flat 50 miles into Savannah. Your ride turns from rural to suburban to the finest urban designed metropolis in the world. (less)

Day #4. Blue Goose Hostel in Irwinton to the Cypress Inn & Coleman Lake near Midville, GA. Start the day in the Sand Hills and finish in the flats of South Georgia. It's a long day, but not too hard if the weather is with you. (less)

Day #1. Atlanta to High Falls State Park. It's best to leave Atlanta on a Sunday morning to avoid traffic. This 60+ mile day is noticeably downhill and you leave the Piedmont region of Georgia and head to the coast. These roads are surprisingly quiet considering you are escaping the gravitational force field of Atlanta. (less)
