Route Overview
Park’n ride from downtown Brenham, Texas. The county seat of Washington County, Brenham is Fredricksburg of East 290, this route will have you convinced the rolling fast terrain of the Black Land Prairie is worth the visit.
Late March - early May is the best time to enjoy the wildflower blooms and rambunctious spring calves to cheer you on from the otherside of the barbed-wire. October to February is also a great time to get a good ride in out here.
Road conditions can change after hard rains
Ride in either direction. Mixed surfaces, 32mm are plenty.
The Weiss Store is NOT a store, just a photo-op worth stopping for as you roll across Hwy. 390.
Midway-ish is the Lueckemeyer Store, a true Lone Star State gem. It’ll have all you need.
If your legs are feeling good, pull into Washington County on the Brazos for a flash back to your 7th grade history textbook.
