# Route Details
Start at the @poi[Croton Dam](1114233).  Parking is available along @slice[Croton Dam Road](d,0,54.41), as well as across 129 on Batten Road. Start by turning on to 129 East, going uphill. Following the road around @slice[to the first](d,2290.1,2556.94) bridge with a beautiful view of the reservoir in both directions. The shoulder is wide enough here to stop and take photographs.

Continue on 129, through several more rolling hills, and after going under and then over the Taconic parkway, the hills on 129 are now behind you. Keep your head up for Jennifer's German American Restaurant on the right, a culinary delight in northern Westchester.

Approximately 1/2 mile ahead you will see the @point[North County trailway entrance](d,9550.95) on the right, which will lead you to your second scenic view of the reservoir. @poi[This old tressle bridge](1114234) was once a part of the Putnam Train line, which serviced commuters from 1929 until 1959.

Continue South on the trail until the next intersection with 134. Exit the bike path on to 134 West and put on your climbing legs for the only @slice[significant climb](d,11907.3,14815.41) of the day. From the moment you get on to 134 until you pass the Taconic Parkway, you will be climbing approximately 300 feet in about 2 miles.

Take a breather at the top as you turn right on to @point[Grants Lane](d,14815.41), and then a quick right on to @point[Spring Valley Lane](d,15095.92). Enjoy the beatiful foliage covered roads and the shade of the wooded roads as you wind down the hill. Be careful not to miss the @point[next right on to Blinn](d,15997.73) Road halfway down the hill.

Follow Blinn Road down to Apple Bee Farm Road, and you are on your @slice[last hill](d,17567.84,18000.81). At the end of Apple Bee Farm Road, turn right on to Quaker Bridge, following it to the @point[Croton Dam Road](d,18864.87).

Enjoy the view on @poi[the dam](1114233) as your reward for a great ride as you make your way back to the car.
