The Tuesday Night Ride (or TuNR) is a staple in the road cycling world. All over the country, local cyclists get together on Tuesday nights for a group ride with their buddies. Branson is no different. This is the route for the Branson area TuNR, which starts at Turkey Creek Brewery at 5:30pm during Daylight Savings Time (March-November).

From the brewery, the group will briefly head north on Business 65 and then turn right onto Evergreen St right after crossing the Turkey Creek bridge. Evergreen allows the group to climb out of the White River valley while avoiding climbing out of the valley on the more traffic-heavy BB highway which is nearby. The group doesn't avoid BB entirely though, and will turn left onto BB highway.  Soon they'll pass Hollister High School, which is an alternate start location for anyone who doesn't feel like climbing Evergreen.

Past the high school, there are a few rollers on BB, but the highway designation soon ends and the road becomes Gobblers Knob. After some rollers and a couple miles of gentle uphill, Gobblers Knob will end and the group turns right onto JJ Highway, where the majority of the ride takes place.

Not long after turning onto JJ, the route will ascend a hill officially named Pine Hill, but local cyclists call the climb @poi["Murder Rock"](157268289). It is thus named because on the right about halfway up the climb, you'll pass a sandstone outcropping where the infamous Taney County outlaw Alf Bolin committed crimes. Bolin was a Civil War-era bushwhacker who would ambush travelers of the Springfield-Harrison Road from the rocks. His ambushes resulted in several murders.

Over the top of Murder Rock, there are a couple of rollers, but then the ride very much flattens out for the next 15 miles or so. Pacelines will often start forming on the group rides at this point. You'll also pass the old @poi[Pine Top schoolhouse](157268391), which is a good turnaround for those who only want to ride 20 miles or so. The ride eventually goes into Arkansas, where the road becomes Old Springfield Rd. When the route comes to the intersection with AR 14, it turns around and heads back.

Before you know it, you'll go through those couple of rollers and then descend back down Murder Rock. This is a fast descent, but there are no twists and the road is smooth. Turn left onto Gobblers Knob to continue the fun downhill back toward Hollister High School. This is often the fastest part of the ride.

As Gobblers Knob turns back into BB, there is one final climb that is followed by three rollers. This first climb is usually where the competition in the group comes to a head because the unofficial sprint is just past the rollers. The finish line for the sprint is the speed limit sign that marks the start of the school zone for Hollister High School.

After that, all that's left is to descend down BB highway and turn left onto Saint James St at the bottom to come back to the brewery.

-This ride is typically thought of as a no-drop ride, but there can be times that the group is feeling antsy and it can get fast.  
-There really aren't any chances to stop for drinks or anything on the ride, so just make sure you have what you need if you join the group.
