Tampa area bicycling routes and rides
I am a long-time cyclist in the Tampa Bay area, who has been exploring Florida on a bicycle for many years. From the oak and pine wooded paths, to the scenic vistas around our coastlines, and not to forget the surprising hills in Florida's Central Ridge area, there are many wonderful rides in the Sunshine State. I would like to share some of my favorites rides and routes with you.
I am also a part of an annual Cross Florida Bike Ride every October, starting at the Atlantic Ocean on the east coast, traversing our beautiful state on trails, paths and lightly traveled roads as much as possible over a 3-day weekend to finish at the Gulf of Mexico on the west coast. This Ride is a perennial favorite, and available spaces fill up every year. We also do an annual Team C2C Spring Ride, encompassing routes with some of the biggest hills (Sugarloaf Mountain, anyone?) in Florida.

Team C2C has lots of like-minded riders of various levels who often get together for rides, so it seems that someone is almost always planning a ride!
