Legacy Bicycles was founded in 2012 to address the growing concerns from local cyclists that there wasn't a bike shop owned and run by cyclists within a reasonable distance. We opened to fill that need but have been advocates for cycling since long before our shop opened.

We host weekly shop rides for all ability levels (including youth rides, dinner rides and all-women rides). We support several local events such as Heartland Triathlon held every June just blocks away from us, several youth triathlons and a youth tri team. There's more to our cycling advocacy but we're most excited about our Ambassadorship with Ride with GPS!

We've been using Ride with GPS to create and plan routes for ourselves and our events but as Ambassadors, we at Legacy Bicycles plan to bring you exciting new routes with more information, pictures and suggestions for making the best of a ride in Highlands County, which includes Avon Park, Lake Placid and Sebring.
