A ride along the Mediterranean coast passing through various coastal towns and up towards a high plateau hiding natural and manmade wonders. This route is hard, but well worth the effort.

Route Details

Antalya boasts a rather rugged mountainous terrain, so even on the “flats,” you’ll climb up kickers, pass through tunnels, and descend into beach towns scattered across the coastline. It made sense to ride the coastline to the bottom of the narrow valley, which starts from the town of Kemer.

This route starts from Hurma and goes along the coast, with mountains to the north and blue waters to the south. The coastline offers great views and has a wide enough shoulder to ride on. (Pay attention to gutters, they run parallel to the road, and small tires can get caught in them)

Once you reach the @point[coastal town of Kemer](d,32361.03), that's when the real climb starts, and it's a steep one. @slice[Along the climb](d,32958.07,59429.83), you'll pass by unique places, both natural and manmade. Some of which are the narrow canyon that gatekeeps the upper Gedelme plateau and the rest of the world. You'll also pass by @poi[the historic Gedelme castle](80579706), home to one of the oldest sycamore trees in the region.

From there, it's a steep ride up to the ridgeline, where the long descent back into town starts.

Although this route is challenging, it is quite worth it.

# Route

* You can park anywhere in Hurma, such as parks, public parking lots, and empty lots. 
* The route splits into 3 sections, a flat section, a steep climb, and a long descent. 
* This route boasts many POI, such as Gedelme castle, a 2000yo tree, narrow canyons, and one-of-a-kind vistas, to name a few. 
* Pay attention to gutters on the road; as they run parallel to the road, your tires can and will get caught in them.

# Notes

* The best time of year to do this ride is from March to early November. 
* You can start from Hurma or wherever you want, but that will just add more miles. 
* Low gears are highly recommended! 
* Good fitness would improve this experience; the climb is steep. 
* Water & food can be found all along the route. (water is always available at mosques and natural springs along the road, they will be clearly marked)
