## **From Treo head to the town of Ione and back**

This route takes you on a tour of range and wheat country and into the irrigated valley.  The @slice[first ten miles](4,258) treats you to great gravel as does the @slice[final fifteen](1503,409) of this 60 mile tour.

Take heart, as the gravel sections are better maintained than some of the sections of road on Ione-Gooseberry.  From Treo your first 30 miles is downhill as you go North.

Once again, you find yourself atop @poi[Rood Hill](932835) on @slice[Hail Ridge road](86,67),
so tak a moment to take it all in and remember what you go down you will get to experience going up!

In less than eight miles you head North on Sumner Rd and in
less than three you are on SR 206 heading West to Ione Gooseberry road.  Don't let the contour fool you, as there are some good sections to climb.  The effort is all worthwhile when you can stop and  review of @poi[Valley Floor](932832) you left behind.  Now coast into Ione 
on a great 2 mile descent.. 
Take a break at the new @poi[Ione City Park](932830) and fuel up for your return.

You spend the next few miles in the Willow Creek valley then turn South into Rhea Creek Valley, irrigated fields show off crops of alfafa hay and corn.  The false flat grade and a few 
rolling hills lead you to Libert School road.  This is the real start of your climb back to the lodge.

Take a moment to review the climb of @poi[Keck Canyon](932833) before moving on. down @poi[Liberty School
road](2b255ae46c657763e4db0000) which also greets you with a gravel surface for the remainder of your ride.  Take another moment or two and check out the @poi[abandonded school house](932834)

As you look South you will see Hail Ridge looming 6 miles ahead.
Take your time, enjoy the climb and views as you climb  up Redding Rd and back up Hail Ridge and enjoy the descent back to Treo
