## **From Treo you head downhill!**

Have you ever wanted to ride a route that is all downhill?  Well this route will allow
you to lose 4,000 ft in elevation as you leave the high desert for the Columbia River
in Arlington.  Stop at the @poi[Earl Snell Park](3910756) for a swim and a snack and take the short 
trip to Boardman to check out the [Sage Center](http://www.visitsage.com/visit-sage-center).  You will have a better understanding of where your sustainable food and energy comes
from.

You start your ride by heading over Rood Hill but take the @poi[unimproved portion](3936049) down past some @poi[WW II vintage grain bin](3884547)s.  The route takes you on to Dale Brown which
should be considered the "@poi[Bonneville Saltflats](3935463)" of Morrow county.  It is time to let loose
after that technical descent. Then stop to catch your breath at the @poi[one room schoolhouse](3925142) on
Liberty School Road.

For the @slice[next four miles](208,187), literally coast down Barlow Canyon Lane.  It is home to several
abandoned homesteads that are worthwhile to view.  Remember that this is private property and
you should respect both the property and the historical significance of their present state.
What would cause you to just pack up and leave?  You have a few more miles to descend on
Valby and you hit Ione-Gooseberry after @slice[18 uninterrupted miles of gravel!](4,450)

Six miles of climbing on paved roads takes you to @slice[15 miles of gravel riding](602,330) on the Eastern
ridge of Rock Creek before you descend down to Rt 19 and Shutler Flat and coast down 
Alkali Canyon into the town of Arlington.
