## **From Treo travel a loop to the ghost town of Lonerock and back**

This route will let you experience all the different environments available at Treo in one ride.
You start with @slice[18 miles of gravel that includes Hail Ridge](8,357).  Stop atop @poi[Rood Hill](932988) for before your first gravel descent on Hail Ridge. The map calls in Hale Ridge but it is known
by the locals as Hail Ridge as it is the dividing line between what land can grow wheat without
fear of hail (to the North) and that which remains in native plants for cattle grazing.

You hit the pavement in time to experience one of the most exhilarating descents of a lifetime, @poi[Sixmile Canyon](932991) (SR 206).
@slice[Four hairpins](338,238) greet you in the next two miles as you drop 1000 ft.  Take your time, its open range
out here and the only thing to stop you from hitting the canyon floor is a few strands of barbed 
wire.

Sit in as you have an 18 mile climb as you travel over the wheat land on Matney Flats.   As you reach Black Butte take a moment to pause and look down into @poi[Darling Canyon](932994). A quick
descent and a climb out of Lost Valley and your riding Pine Ridge for six miles of unabstructed views stop again before the descend into the @poi[Ghost
town of Lonerock](593de0e56c65775fd5750000) to take in @poi[Boone Canyon](932995).  Then head into town, take a break, walk around the town of 21 according to the 2010 Census

From Lonerock you climb alongside Robinette Creek on Buttermilk Canyon road.  You have just 18
miles to go and its all gravel! You start with a 4 mile climb and then descend to the canyon floor
and Rock Creek.  Take time to view the @poi[lava formations](932989) before you hit the @poi[canyon floor and  and the ranch](932992) before
you start your climb out make note of the machinery shed options the formations allow. A nice climb of 3 miles brings you back on to Hail Ridge. Take a moment to look back down into @poi[Harshman Canyon](932990) and Buttermilk Canyon rd. Its just a 6 mile ride back to Treo!
