What Goes up....Leads to an Awesome Descent

This route is for those who love rolling countryside punctuated with occasional rollers, a pleasant climb or two, a bit of wine tasting and a section to let the horses run - what we call the Fern Hill "Freeway". It's a big loop starting in Hillsboro, traversing west to Verboort, heading south through Forest Grove - home to Pacific University - and then back through more beautiful rolling farm country and suburban Hillsboro. This route covers the riding map - climbing and descending, cruising over rolling farmlands and digging deep on some stiff rollers - all that Washington county has to offer road cyclists. You'll ride through Helvetia , Pumpkin Ridge, west to Clapshaw Hill, Hillside and back home through Verboort. (less)

This route highlights the diversity of Washington County. You experience the beautiful hills and vistas of Helvetia and Pumpkin Ridge; the berry fields, wine vineyards and farm lands on the flats; and the rolling hills of Cedar Canyon west of Banks. (less)

This route, slightly longer than a metric century, is largely rolling - to- flat with some awesome scenic climbing in the middle. Starting in Hillsboro, it rambles south down the Tualatin Valley through Forest Grove and Gaston - bottoming out near the town of Yamhill. The mid-point turn is a gorgeous and challenging ride around the Woodland Loop. (less)
