Full Lake Loop from South Bellevue P&R

Route Details

This is one of the classic routes around the Seattle area - incorporating both Seattle and East Side. Starting from Bellevue, you'll do a counter clockwise loop around the north end of the lake via Kirkland, then along the Seattle-side shoreline returning via Renton. There are great views of Lake Washington as you pass around it.

This route is a mix of trail and road with some areas that can be challenging to follow unless you study the map ahead of time.

# Route

* Park at the South Bellevue Park and Ride - do not leave valuables in your car here
* Initial section starts with the Mountains to Sound Trail and continues through downtown Bellevue - note that the @slice[downtown section](d,5440.16,6562.94) may be more safe on the sidewalk depending on time of day
* Some good stops that have been pointed out are @poi[Log Boom Park](1515176) in Kenmore, @poi[Cascade Bicycle Club](1515183) in Seattle, and @poi[Seward Park](1515177) in Seattle. As needed use @point[Gene Coulon Park](d,70247.21) in Renton on your return trip
* Sights include great views of Lake Washington from various angles as you travel around
* There are no steep climbs or decents on route. Most elevation is to be had in the first half of the ride through Bellevue/Kirkland/Kenmore 
* Seattle roads are not in great condition so use caution. There are also @point[tracks](d,69653.1) in Renton to watch for (cross at a 90 degree angle!)
* Please review ahead of time the @slice[section around the University of Washington](d,42317.62,44060.4). There has been a lot of construction there, so a detour may be required. Plan accordingly.
