Explorative cycling & commuting

Denmark is quite a cycle friendly nation and has a wide and extensive network of cycle routes throughout the country. There are long distance national routes, regional cycle routes and local cycle routes, which are clearly marked.

Most of the cycle paths that run alongside main roads are well laid tarmac paths and good to ride on and are well maintained. If you are lucky you might find yourself on an old railway line which has been utilized as a cycle path like between Laurbjerg and Silkeborg and between [Spentrup and outskirts of Randers](http://ridewithgps.com/ambassador_routes/299-spentrup-to-langa).

These many options can be overwhelming – which route should you choose?

As ambassador, I will try to help by providing a number of well-described options in the eastern part of Mid Jutland. My focus is on routes combing desire for exercise (road bike) and exploring places and landscapes.

Being a hard-core commuter and eager cyclist myself, I always try to find time for doing some cycling if travelling as part of my job. I am really looking forward to use route suggestions from other ambassadors and happy about being able to contribute myself.
