Rode for a short while near Bontuchel with a rider from Vancouver where he works as an engineer! He was on a Trek and told me he was staying at his mum's house in Penyfordd before heading off to the Alps (I can only dream). Didn't get his name but it was a pleasure to make his acquaintance. I had an enjoyable breakfast at Llyn Brenig Cafe. There quite a few anglers out on the lake in boats today. The return half of the ride was spoilt by a near miss and confrontation with a pickup driver. He came far to fast around a bend on the road between Prion and Llanrhaeadr (approx 66.5km) into the ride. Forced me against the hedge and I almost made contact with the rear of his vehicle as I came to a halt and swerved away from the hedge. Showed him a couple of my middle fingers upon which he promptly slammed his brakes on and came to a screeching halt then speedily reversed back towards me. Then 'flew' out of his vehicle ranting at me. All I can remember him shouting was "I've got work to do" and "I'm in a hurry". TWAT! Whilst he was ranting at me he was moving towards me aggressively and twice I had to retreat several steps. He was a stocky person with a 'weathered' complexion - perhaps someone who works outdoors a lot. Shoulder length grey hair. Not sure but he may have had a 'bad' left eye. HAYDN MORRIS was written on the white roof / canopy over the rear of his green V reg pickup. Reported him to local police and got an incident number. Think he might be local and wanted the incident on record in case our paths should cross again.
