Rode down to Rochelle on a windy, cool, sunny day. Route was maybe 25% dirt roads. After having the garmin for several months apparently i'm still getting used to it because I never did start the ride recording even though I had the route loaded up and it was directing me where to go and everything. Didn't notice till the ride was halfway done. So had to click through here on RWGPS and save that way. Wasn't losing credit for this ride due to a flub, so went by the wired computer data for recorded time. Ride took 10 hours partially due to three flats. I run Clement Xplor 35mm tires with tubes and they were getting a bit old and thin, and I cut the rear sidewall on some sharp object other than a rock(was only going 5mph on Tri County road just before crossing Brooks rd, when it happened). Booted the tire and put in a new tube and didn't have a problem till after descending McCard Lake road in Pike county, when I somehow found a tiny piece of amber glass amongst the gravel which caused a tiny hole. Decided to patch this one and that held till I was on Yatesville road and felt my rear going soft. The boot had moved slightly and a rock had gotten the tube again. Patched that one real quick and booted the tire again and put an extra fig bar wrapper in there too, and thankfully that held for the rest of the ride. Was hoping for this to be faster due to a WNW tailwind but I went a little too hard in the beginning and was a little gassed at the end. Got a long way to go before i'm comfortable with Kanza distance. But it went well considering I haven't done a long ride in awhile.
