June 15 Pascagoula Mississippi to Dauphin Island AL

This was planned to be a nice easy day, however, Mother Nature and her desire to scare me to death with lightening, had other plans. I truly haven't seen lightening like this before, it was hitting so often at one point that there was just a constant growling sound in the sky. I ended up taking shelter under a very small (3'x 3') awning for a Baptist church - standing there for like 2 hours waiting for it to let up. Then I got caught again right at the base of the huge bridge that goes out over Mobile Bay to Dauphin Island. I ended up hiding in a bait shop for an hour or so. Fortunately the hotel stayed open late and I was able to find some food late too.
