Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.

I got a late start and was concerned a decent ride might make me late for work. However, I felt I should do the ride, so I did. I may need to work later than normal to make up for it.
I noticed that I was tending to ride with a lower cadence and power more in a higher gear today. This I noticed about 1/2 way up Freeman. It was just what was coming naturally. I thought, "Hey, maybe I can make it all the way up that monster hill at the top of Freeman without using the granny gear." This was my goal.
About halfway up the steep part of the hill I had to focus to keep going, but I told myself I was going to do it, and I was going to be able to make it. I succeeded. Then over the crest and up a little further, just before Old Spanish Trail, the hill turned up again and I needed to push to not shift down to granny. I wasn't going to miss out on this success!
After I turned onto Old Spanish Trail I shifted up onto the big chainring and away I went. I was surprised at how easy it was to stay in the higher end of the big chain ring. I had remembered it to be some climbing, but it wasn't much.
Old Spanish Trail and Ridgeside went by very quickly.
I feel good about my ride and enjoyed it immensely.
