Training objective: nice tempo ride for 3-4 hours with the heart rate at 140-150 bpm's and the cadence between 70-80 rpm's.
Spent the first 50 minutes faffing about - all below objective (headed over to WV Amsterdam to see if I could pick up my club kit, but they were closed by the time I got there). Finally got out of the city and got going, so hit the split/lap button to demarcate the start of some "proper" training and getting reacquainted with the new 11/32 cassette (I definitely prefer the 11/28 for training and might even move to something more like an 11/25 for long, flat rides and more power training in the Fall).
I did an earlier ride in the day on my "Oumafiets"" going out to pick up my race bike and cycling back with it beside me. About 18 km's - that was a decent pace (2 Strava PR's on the old clunker - ha!) and hard work.
Threw in a few sprints for good measure on this ride - had quite a bit of wind against this circuit. Then, at about km 92, two mallard ducks launched themselves out of the bushes and into my front wheel (while I was doing 36 km/hr). Fortunately, I stayed up. Unfortunately for them, well, I suspect they're rather injured at best. Sorry ducks!!!
When I got back to the bike storage place, I noticed I still had duck down caught in my spokes...

Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
