Also, shout out to Mike's Bikes at Aid Station B for charging my Garmin that gave me a low battery warning at the start of Butano Fire Rd. I managed to have enough battery to complete the ride!
I didn't crash (not for lack of trying). Full success!!! I started with too much tire pressure. The fun factor increased significantly as I lowered it. I'm sure I could've lowered it more but I was happy with how it felt and didn't want to mess with it anymore.
The ride is as stunningly beautiful as it brutally hard. Lots of steep, technical climbing and descending. I don't know how people were able to descend the thick gravel section near the top of Olmo Fire Rd. It was nuts! I was able to climb many of steep, loose sections that I had to walk on the recon which felt great. Often times there would be someone walking right on the good line which meant I'd have to dismount, I was able to pass a couple times and not spin out and fall.
I felt good all day. I didn't want to leave the guys, so many missed photo ops, but I did feel the need to get to the finish before my battery died.
* I think I'm missing a few miles because my Garmin was in Battery Save Mode and losing GPS signal.

Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.
