Fricourt, Mametz and Delville Wood

A ride again on roads, paths and tracks from Albert around and across the various front and reserve lines starting at Belcourt, Fricourt and then taking in Devonshire Cemetery, The Shrine, Manchesters Memorial, 38th Division Memorial at Mametz Wood, Longueval and Delville Wood before returning via Lochnagar Crater at La Boiselle.

Siegfried Sassoon carried Cpl O'Brien in wounded from mine craters nearly 2km distant on May 25th 1916 after their patrol was fired on.

The Devonshires still holding their trench 98 years on
