Number one son and I rode in Bicycle Network's "Around the Bay in a Day" 50km option with around 2000 other riders, aged from very young to very old. An early start plus catching the train plus it being the first day of daylight savings meant an effective wake-up of 5am, then huge numbers at the start meant our 7.30 "start time" got pushed back to around 8am! Strangely warm, around 20C at 6am and rising to 26C or so during the day, but very strong northerlies blowing most of the time -- I thought that the crossing over the Westgate bridge might be closed but they managed to keep it open. The last few kilometres from Elwood back to Albert Park were hard going due to the wind and general tiredness, but all up a fun "event" of a day
