A hot one, but air much cleaner than yesterday (had been a particle air quality alert (yellow) for 5/23/10). Forgot to charge Garmin Edge after yesterday's ride, so lost battery power at mile 45. Will complete trip by hand-drawing it (about another 35 miles and 1900 ft of elevation gain, so total for this ride is 80 miles, 5100 ft elev gain over ~11 and a half hrs ( 7 hrs moving time) ). Grove St closed due to water main project, so detoured onto Rt 31 North at start. Lunch stop at Princeton Ctr coffee/bake shop (bowl of mushroom and cream soup, slice of strawberry bread). Then aft'n coffee break w/ brownie at Meadowbrook Orchards out on the deck overlooking the orchards and distant hills to NE, under an umbrella for protection from the sun, and replaced rear tire tube as noticed tire went flat during the break (slow leak right at valve/tube joint). Powered down the Edge at coffee break stop; doing so put a data glitch in stream of about 3 miles--have noticed in the past when accidently hit reset button this also happens! Just after the battery died, raced w/ another cyclist along Bailey and Reservoir roads (we passed and repassed each other several times), passed a recumbent cyclist at full throttle by Worcester water treatment plant, he rejoined me while I coasted to the Mower St stop and Tatnuck Sq. red light... said his bike weighed about 32 lbs... has great momentum down the hills!! Stopped at Barney''s for Mon night ride (22 participants this eve); our group did 14 miles at avg speed of 16.5 mph; finally, rode home by Worcester airport runway and Ransom Rd in Leicester. Sunny w/ some aft'n Cu cloud streeting (clouds hardly moved at all), air temp at start and finish: 60s F, maxed out in low 80s F mid aft'n, dew pts in mid to upper 50s F, winds SW 5-10 mph.

Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.

Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.
