We left Chips car at Palmetto Trail entrance in Table Rock and then drove my car to our regular parking spot by Pinnacle Lake then hiked up Pinnacle trail to Drawbar Cliffs and returned via the Palmetto Trail which follows Long Ridge road down to Adger Road then turns to Big Bottom Road but the Palmetto Trail bears off to the right on its own. The trail is marked with double yellow stripes and Blue Ridge Electric Palmetto Trail tree tags. The trip back is mostly downhill but very rocky on Long Ridge and Adger part. The Palmetto trail part is pretty smooth and level but it's still a long hike. The picture of Mile Marker 4 shows up at less than 2 miles on the hike causing us to question the accuracy of the watch. When I compare the hike mileage with the route mileage, it appears that the hike mileage is less on the hike than the route ie the 4 mile marker is less than 2 miles on the hike mileage but mileage 5 appears to be about the same and by 11 the hike shows just slightly more than the route and the final mileage is 11.6 on the hike vs 11.9 on the Route But the Hike Includes the Trek up to Pinnacle Peak and back so it's close but watch might be missing some of the hiked miles. I turned off Auto Pause during the hike. I also deleted the very start of the hike mileage because the max speed was too high. Verdict: the watch worked well But I ended up using the RWGPS Phone Maps for Navigation on the Trail so it might be better to use the Phone and bring charger. Watch almost ran out of juice after 7 hours.

Best format for turn-by-turn directions on modern Garmin Edge Devices
Best format for turn by turn directions on Edge 500, 510. Will provide true turn by turn navigation on Edge 800, 810, 1000, Touring including custom cue entries. Great for training when we release those features. Not currently optimal for Virtual Partner.
Useful for uploading your activity to another service, keeping records on your own computer etc.
Useful for any GPS unit. Contains no cuesheet entries, only track information (breadcrumb trail). Will provide turn by turn directions (true navigation) on the Edge 705/800/810/1000/Touring, but will not have any custom cues. Works great for Mio Cyclo. Find GPS specific help in our help system.

Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.
