Start at the Buck Prairie pull out off of Dead Indian. Descend Conde, take a right at the bottom on South Fork Little Butte Creek Rd which is paved until about mile 14 mile of the ride. After crossing the concrete bridge the road ends at Camp Latgawa, head right towards the 'parking lot', near the back of the parking area veer left to find the trail, cross the hand made bridge and ride 1/3 of a mile of single track until you reach Owens Creek and then start the 8 mile gravel climb with 2200 ft of gain, ouch. It levels out a bit about 1/2 way up, the first 1/2 is brutal. After you make the intersection with Conde, there is more climbing but on pavement and not too steep. No water refill options, bring extra. You are basically out in the middle of nowhere so be prepared. This ride is totally doable on a road bike (and we did), cross bike might be preferred.
