Started with David Slaton and Jeff Nickel. They were dropping me out in Napa for a while, and again for a while on the climb after the first rest stop. But, during that climb my legs started to kick in some; Jeff was waiting for David at the top and I went on ahead. At some point I felt pretty strong and rode what seemed like a good pace and was happy with things in general, except - the rails cracked on my saddle and I had to sit on the nose of the saddle for the most part or my weight was otherwise mainly on the seat post. I did not dare to sit back on the saddle or the rails may have broken off completely and left me standing the rest of the ride. As it was, I did plenty of standing out of the saddle because, I don't care how great the chamois is, that seat post with a strip of leather over it is uncomfortable. LOL
The weather was about as nice as I could expect, a little warm. Again, I thought this was a very nice ride, except for a long stretch along Knoxville Rd which has lots of pot holes; in fact, I allowed my attention to wane and went over a perticularly vicious pothole and had a rear tire pinch flat I took my time changing while I snacked. I think 30 people must have gone by, including Terri Boykins and Kerin Huber.
At rest stop 1, I said "hi" to Chuck Bramwell, but did not see him again that day. I was tickled to see Becky there. I also saw my curtailed 508 partner who promised to mail me my long-lost flashlight. I caught Kerin Huber at the second rest stop, and, as I mentioned, she passed me when I had my flat and I did not catch her again until we were descending towards the lunch stop. I left before her, but she took the lowland route, and I caught her again well after the rest stop which follows where the two courses rejoin. I caught and said "hi" to Kirsten just before dark.

Haha - adds up to 1 hr 30 min 57 secs of stopped time, but the metrics for the entire ride only shows 1:30:06. The sum is less than the parts here.
More stopped time than usual, but this was part training and part social.

Estimated Time shows a prediction of how long it would take you to ride a given route. This number is based on your recent riding history, and represents an estimate of moving time. Each time you upload a new ride, your Estimated Time profile will adjust to reflect your most recent riding. Only rides exceeding 10 miles (16 km) will affect these estimates.
