Nature land trust is extremely challenging from start to finish. Slippery leaves hide roots and rocks that can trip you up on descents. Most of it is climbing with a brutal often hand over fist all fours climb the last mile up to the bridge crossing Raven Cliff Falls. The falls are dramatic and beautiful hosting many visitors most of whom hike the 8 mile in and back from the parking lot. This part of the trail is tourist quality and a welcome exit strategy for Chip and me ( especially me). A friendly couple, in our age range, moved through that part of the trail. A group of college students, we had whitnessed crossing the bridge and continuing on the treacherous trail segment we had just scaled, caught up with and cheerfully passed us on their though hike. One guy said he had slipped into the water and was now wearing his slippers.... the strength and exuberance of youth!
