I was going to go riding yesterday, but the weather didn't permit. It wasn't raining, but it was too cloudy, and likely foggy in the mountains... Very dangerous! The weather today was similar in the morning, but the clouds began to dispurse around noon time. So, I decided to put one in today. I wore 2 base layers, arms/legs. I brought my skull cap, but it didn't get that cold. When I reached the top of SS, I took off my Leg Warmers. The weather on the return trip was real comfortable. The cool air kept me from heating up in the slightest bit. y legs felt good today, and my upper body is almost fully recovered from the aches of doing my strength training. I'll likely put in more crunches and pushups tomorrow. Ailments for the ride were almost none. My legs and back were with me the whole way. The only thing that ailed me was my right foot, of all things. I'm not sure why, but my right foot was sore between the ball on the heel. Could be cleat placement, but I haven't changed that recently. When I stopped at SS to take my leg warmers off, I checked my right cleat, because it has a hint of play. I thought maybe the bolts holding them on were loose, but that didn't seem to be the case. Gear, nothing wrong. Everything is working great. I'm real pleased with that. The saddle is working fantastic. No soreness after the ride, unlike the previous saddle. My concentration was right on. I was able to listen to my walkman and just focus on my form, pretty much the whole way. My balance was also good, went hand in hand with my concentrating on my form. I did real good time. I did some digs on the usual spots for this ride. I decided to give it a little punch in the last 20-30 minutes of the ride. The tailwind made my day. Gotta love that!
