The morning was damp and misty, but the earlier fog had dissipated by our delayed start time. A couple of early climbs got our blood flowing as we biked some favorite and familiar Carlisle roads. The dampness gradually cleared and the temperature warmed as we headed into the Chelmsford stretch, the unfamiliar (to most) portion of the ride. A rest stop at Great Brook Farm was a welcome relief, as we had been pushing on without much break. Continuing on from our stop, North Road became West Street as we crossed the town line into Billerica. Having earlier ridden South Street, we needed only East Street to complete our compass point. A few miles later, there it was. Back at the start, it was ice cream all around.
