Cloudy except for near the last part from the winery in Rocheport, Rained on us for about 2-1/2 hours mid-ride from Hartsburg up until Rocheport, sometimes very heavy with strong gusty South winds. Temps dropped down into the high 50's at one point but we never got cold until we sat down for lunch in the air conditioning at the winery. We stopped to wash off the bikes (and ourselves) at the Merriweather Cafe & Bike Shop, then made the 1.5 mile steep slog up to the Bluff Top Bistro at Les Bourgeois Vineyards. We cleaned up as best we could before going in and we had a wonderful Father's Day Lunch - Ryan paid of course. Gorgeous views from the bluff. Definitely a tough riding day with the rain and wind plus it was predominantly an uphill ride. The wet trail really increased the rolling resistance of the tires and this was by far our slowest average speed day of the trip, as well as the longest distance and most climbing. We rolled into the Hotel Frederick after 4:30 pm - longest day in the saddle too.
