First ride at Port Gamble to try to avoid the incoming smoke. Drove to Edmonds, parked up the hill about 1.5 miles from the terminal (in the interest of just getting there on time and not worrying about looking for parking), biked on the ferry, rode 104->307->Stottlemeyer Road->trail. Biking on the road wasn't great: the shoulder is fairly narrow and I can't go that fast on the MTB, but it worked fine. Port Gamble trails were fun, though I had to stop quite often to look at the map. South side was XC singletrack, like lower Galbraith or BDOS. North side has short flow and jump trails. It's like it was designed to test bikes at the summer Evergreen festival. I think I rode >60% of what was there; everything out of the woods was really dusty. The Hood was fun, but I'll bet it's a lot better when it's not so loose. Steam Donkey and Howdy Neighbor were fun, but coming from Tiger, they didn't feel as hard as their ratings. Hands down the best trail of the day was the last one, Derailled. Really great flow, sadly it's short. Coming back on 104 wasn't too bad, but I was definitely tired. Sadly, the empanada place is closed for the week! Instead, I ate a huge Detroit style pizza from Moto in Edmonds, which was delicious.

Now I’m hungry, damn you! 🍕
It was really good! And probably 1000 calories, which is about how many I burned (this doesn't show the 5 miles on the road each way).
