Our first ride was 100% Arlington. (Well, maybe 99.98%.) The first half was the hilly half, with 1000 feet of ascent in 10 miles, which took us to the Park Circle Water Tower, where the photo was taken. We then swooped down Eastern Avenue to Menotomy Rocks Park where some rode the broad, but in some places, rugged trail. Others were more cautious and walked through. We made our way to the path along Spy Pond to the Kelwyn Manor neighborhood and past the governor's home, which was revealed by the presence of a State Police cruiser parked outside. Continuing through the flat terrain of East Arlington we took some obscure streets and passages finding Waldo on the way. Several riders cut the ride short by heading back to home without returning to Hurd Field. Everyone did remarkably well on the hills, especially for the first ride of the season.
