Day 18 Day started with 2 not so bad bridges out to Pawley Island. Then picked up a tiny tail wind headed north. A wrong turn in Waverly Mills added 2 miles to my route. About that time Chris had an unintended depressurization of his rear tire. Once again the magic of self sealing tubeless tires self sealed it and it only needed to be repumped. On the road to a bicycle shop to recheck it and get the pressure up to snuff with a gauge. I had the job of finding the shop. Google said Bucks about 20 miles up the road in Garden City Beach (mile 29) was a great bike shop with knowledgeable folks. And it would be open when we got there. When we got there it was open. But it was a Motor Cycle shop. This has happened twice now. Google should Not list motor cycle shops for " bicycle shops near me" ! So luckily onto Mr C's bicycle shop, not 5 miles down the road, and next to a good restaurant for lunch. The rain started after lunch. It continued chilly and rain through Myrtle Beach, which had a good bike path but it was away from the ocean front tourist areas, and we saw little of that. A seemingly unnecessarily twisty ride to North Myrtle Beach brought up the end of the day. Interesting wall art at a Circle K stop. Not three miles from the target Holiday Inn Express, a swing bridge was swung ahead of us and we waited for it to swing back. Interesting operation though and not much hold up. Fine dinner at Clark's next to the hotel. Mints at the counter were Key Lime Pie flavored. Best Key Lime pie of the trip! The bike boxes are en-route to Easton from Naples, as we are beyond rescue from the southern end. Onward to Wilmington in a new state if we have a good tailwind and some luck tomorrow. A storm is brewing, so Wilmington may be a place to hold up for a day or two to wait it out. It won't be snow here, but it might be where you are. Bike Shop: Not Bucks.
