Day 4 Katy Trail: First Day in Illinois: Had Lunch in St Charles and left Dallas and David there. They were planning a shuttle to get to the train station to ride to Sedalia. Trail was closed from flooding east of St Charles so started back on the road toward Anton and the Mississippi River. Stopped in Hartford, there was no motel or RV and too tired to continue called police to ask where to camp. He said there is no where in town to just find a quiet place and no one would likely bother me for one night. So wild camped but got permission from land owner. Another policeman did bother me tho... He tried to chase me said it was private property but finally got the man who gave me permission on the phone and he told the policeman it was ok. Cop said he wanted me out of town by 6am anyway.
